Everyday Vampire Makeup

3 months ago I was asked to do a video on my "everyday" makeup look.

I'm sorry it took me this long to get around to it...

I don't actually wear makeup every day, but this is pretty much my go-to/ simple makeup.

Step 1 is BB creme. Right now I'm using the Etude House Precious Minerals cushion and
3w Clinic collagen cusion.

Step 2 is powder. I use the 3w clinic pearl setting power, because it's glittey!

Step 3 is Red Stuff...
 photo RedStuff_zpsagi3uj5k.jpg

This is the most improtant step. Over the years I've amassed a lot of red makeup, and used a lot of different types, textures and shades of red. These are the ones I have on-hand at the moment.

Today I used the Lush pigment picutred in the centre.
Basically, what I do with these is put a little bit on my fingertips, dab it in the centre of my lips and on my cheeks, then rub the rest around my eyes.
And blend it out like crazy because a little goes a long way.

The last step is mascara. Plain black mascara on the eylashes and a little bit in my brows just to keep them in line.

And that is it.
Sometimes I only do the red stuff and call it a day!

Wonderland Guro Outfit Planning and Art

As I said in my previous outfit planning post, this year's Tea Party Club event is "Dream Masquerade Carnival", and will be featuring Angelic Pretty. And I'm going this year!

I only have three main AP pieces; Candy Treat, Holy Lantern and Wonder Queen.

This time, I went for something darker using Wonder Queen. Honestly, I would never have thought to try a guro look with this dress if my friend Uri hadn't suggested it :D

Like last time, I started by doing a quick drawing of what I wanted to outfit to look like.

My main theme here was "chopping heads". Thats why I went for the blood-drip choker and hatchet handbag. I also wanted to re-use the sceptre I bought to go with this dress when I wore it back in 2014.

Outfit Rundown:
OP: Angelic Pretty
Blood Choker: Claires
Anatomical Heart Cameo: Etsy
Sceptre: Offbrand
Socks: Sourpuss
Boots: Queen Bee

This is my favourite of the outfits I've planned so far!
What do you think?

Angelic Pretty Guro Kawaii Outfit Planning and Art

This year's Tea Party Club event is "Dream Masquerade Carnival", and will be featuring Angelic Pretty.
I've never been to one of the big lolita events before, despite being in the fashion just over ten years
Somewhat impulsively, I decided I wanted to go this time. I got my ticket, and all that's left to do now is plan outfits.

I only have three main Angelic Pretty dresses, Holy Lantern, Wodner Queen and Candy Treat. Since it's an AP event, it makes sense to wear AP.

Before laying out my clothes, I decided to draw a rough idea of what I wanted the outfit to look like.

Candy Treat is the oldest AP dress I own, and I first wore it to MCM Glasgow in 2013.

The cream with red gave it a guro look to me, and that's always been my favourite substyle.

This outfit is basically a re-hash of one I laid out last summer here: "Keep Out Of Reach Of Children"

Like in 2013, I put my apron over the top of it, and included the cross patch.

Like last summer, I put the Zettai Ryouiki pill print thigh-highs with it.

I put in the blood blag glasses chain, and rainbow pills ear cuff from my guro MCM outfit from last year too.

I added a madonna crown made from syringes, which is an acessory i've had in the works for little while.

Outfit Rundown:
JSK: Angelic Pretty
Blouse: Angelic Pretty
Apron: Heart E
Stockings: Zettai Ryouiki
Pill Ear Cuff, Syringe Necklace and Syringe Crown: Handmade

There's still plenty of time to plan outfits and come up with something.
I'm really excited about the event!

have you ever been to a major lolita event?

Too Faced Heart Highlighter and Blusher

The brand "Too Faced" is huge. They are best known for their cute, thematic makeup, like the Sweet Peach palette, the Chocolate Bar palettes, and of course all their heart-shaped blushers.
I've used the heart blusher for quite a long time, and it features in a lot of my makeup videos.

This year, they released the "Love Light" highlighter.

A new heart-shaped product.
The hard shell is shiny and metallic this time to compliment the glittery product inside.
The product is made to look faceted, like a gem stone.

I have never actually used a highlighter before. And I mostly bought this because of how cute it was.
It really didn't show up on my face at all. In the pan, it looks great. Swatched on my finger, it looked great. After applying it, my hand was all glittery!
But it really let me down as a highlighter, becuase it didn't show up at all on my face.

This struck me as odd, because their "Love Flush" blushers are so good.

(You can see the pattern on mine is almost worn away)

I've used this blush regularly for quite a while, and it is basically perfect.
Well pigmented, easy to blend, true to colour.
The plastic shell of the blusher is solid plastic of the same colour as the product, giving it a vintage polly pocket or sailor moon feeling.

I'm not sure why the highlighter didn't live up to this legacy.

The last Too Faced heart product I own is the "Soul Mates" bronzer.

I have never used it.
It's pretty though. The case is a solid black plastic, and it's a bit larger than the blush and highlighter.
Obviously, I'm not really a bronzer kind of guy, but I feel like I will be able to use these colours for something else some day.
They are well pigmented and blend nicely like the blusher.

Overall, I can't say I'm dissapointed, because I bought these mainly for the cute packaging.
And part of me hopes that I just haven't figured highlighter out yet, and will grow to love it with time.

what do you think?
Ever buy stuff just because it looks cute?
Is there an optimal way to apply highlighter that I'm not seeing?

Medieval Glasgow in March

Last weekend, Scot Loli went to a few attractions in the Medieval part of town.
Including the Oldest House, Religious Art museum and Necropolis.
It was bright, sunny and beautiful, but only for one day so I'm glad we made the most of it!

My camera was complaining it's battery was low all day, so I didn't get as many photos as I would have liked.

Skulls, Stars and Stuff that glows.

Back in February I posted my "Glowing Stars Makeup" video, and mentioned that I'd worn the look for a photoshoot with Stuart Crawford, in which we made a riot of a mess with UV paint.
I now have the pictues back from that shoot, and I'm loving them!

I wish I could be covered in glow in the dark stars all the time...

This is my Doll Leaves "Vivienne"

Dandy Ball-Jointed-Doll Makeup and Outfit

In a lot of the old Gothic Lolita Bibles there were pictures of lolitas carrying dolls in outfits that matched theirs, and that look always stuck with me.
Recently, I had the opportunity to do a photoshoot featuring my own dolls and thought it was a good opportunity to try and match outfits with them!

This is one of the dolls I would be imitating.

I figured it would be easy to match him, since my taste in clothes is pretty much the same for dolls and people. Also, I have tried this before, way back in 2012:

(2012 Doll Twinning Photo... I was so young..)
The doll himself hadn't changed much, in fact I nearly left him in the exact same outfit as in 2012, and wore the exact same thing I had back then.. but then decided to change things up a little.

Jacket: Alice and the Pirates
Shorts: Bodyline
Bow: HeartE
Everything else offbrand

I think past-me would be very proud of this...
This photoshoot invovled another doll, who I also matched outfits with:

LBC: One Main Piece, Two Different Looks

This week's Lolita Blog carnival topic is "One Main Piece, Two Drastically Different Outfits".
It sounded like a fun challenge, so I thought I'd give it a shot!

(also, I had some cleaning and studying to do today, and this seemed like more fun...)

I cheated slightly, and made my "main piece" two items - the shirt and waistcoat combo are my main piece for both outfits.

Waistcoat: AATP
Shirt: BPN
Skirt: AATP
Socks: Metamorphose
Headbow: BTSSB
Roses: Offbrand

Waistcoat: AATP
Shirt: BPN
Shorts: Bodyline
Hat: Miho Masuda
Socks: Metamorphose

I actually struggled to make two 'drastically' dfferent outfits. The two here were the best I could do, and honestly they don't feel differen't enough to be considered 'drastically different' imho.
But pretty much all my clothes are black or white with red details. The few that deviate from that are black or white with green details...
I don't have very much variance in my wardrobe.

But I tried!

And now I suppose I should go back to cleaning....
